Fixed Split Keyboard
A fixed split keyboard is split into 2 portions, one portion to be used by the left hand and the other portion to be used by the right hand. Both the portions are fixed together at a certain angle, in a particular shape such that a user could use the keyboard in the most natural angle. A fixed keyboard is a single piece of hardware, all attached together.

Adjustable Split Keyboard
An adjustable split keyboard is also split into 2 portions but both the portions are decoupled from one another into independent pieces. This allows for each portion to be adjusted at any angle and position so that each user could setup the keyboard in a way most suited to his/her needs and allowing for the most comfortable and natural position.

Contoured Keyboard
A contoured keyboard puts the keys in a position that is adjusted to the shoulder width of the typist, thereby programming the function keys for adequate thumb use. It presents in a manner that requires minimal movement of the hands, which consequently relieves pressure and fatigue on the wrist and shoulders, preventing health risks from prolonged typing.

Handheld Keyboard
These aren’t laid out like regular keyboards; instead they are designed for hand grip which allows the mobility of the user such that the user could be be away from the computer while typing.
